Although we had a beautiful parish church, the Board of Trustees decided to pay-off the mortgage and relocate to Summerville, which was more centrally located to the majority of our parishioners. Additional feedback from visitors indicated that being in a bigger city would allow greater and more frequent access to the Mass, as that particular location was some distance away. Since our parish was bequeathed a sizable amount of land, it was also determined that Holy Family could save money by building a new church on our own property. In mid-2010, our former church was purchased by a local congregation in Walterboro.
Since that time, Holy Family has been offering Masses at the rectory, until plans are finalized for a new church and greater fund-raising activities can then begin on a larger scale. Please remember us in your prayers and feel free to contact us if you feel called by God to assist us with our building project.
