Notes on Past Clergy & Obtaining Sacramental Records
Past Clergy at Holy Family
At the time of its founding, Holy Family was served by priests of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX). After the SSPX stopped serving this mission parish, the sacramental life survived here by inviting a number of independent & traditionalist Catholic priests to offer Mass and provide additional sacraments on an as needed basis, until such time as a permanent pastor could be found.
Although eventually finding a priest to fill this position, in early 2008 the Board of Trustees was forced to terminate his services as pastor, due to moral misconduct and misappropriation of funds/donations, all of which has been appropriately and properly documented by civil and ecclesiastical authorities. Thankfully, these "indiscretions" did not include any form of sex abuse.
Obtaining Sacramental Records
Prior to 2008, unfortunately, it seems that sacramental records (Baptism, Confirmation, Matrimony, etc.) were either not kept in the parish, or have been lost during the many transitions that have occurred in the past. Anyone seeking such records from 1977 to approx. the 1980's should try to contact the Society of St. Pius X or the priest who conferred the sacrament(s). From the 1980's to 2008, one should try to contact the priest or his particular community/society who provided the sacrament(s). It is suspected that these records may also be in the possession of a former trustee/coordinator who refuses to turn over various other items. Upon special request and with as much detail as possible, we will try to contact this individual or provide their contact information to you.
**Notice of Special Request: Although early sacramental records were not maintained or have been lost, clergy are requested to provide as much information as possible about those who have previously received sacraments at Holy Family. This request is in addition to the usual notification(s) to the parish of origin, as required by Canon Law.
